Our Mission is to honor country musicians from around the state. Our event will be held on the second Sunday in September of each year.
Donations and funds being raised will be used to help fund music programs in elementary schools for children throughout the state.
Co-Founders:
Kenny Powell & Jeanette Powell
The South Dakota Country Music Hall of Fame started as a brainstorm in 2004 from Kenny Powell and Barb Alley to honor Kenny's uncle, Curt Powell, who was an accomplished musician. Curt passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. It started out as a musicians jam session. The event has turned into an annual charity event with proceeds being donated to charity through raffles and donations.
